Welcome to the The Friends of Kingston Hospital page.
The Friends of Kingston Hospital was formed in 1954 with the aim of improving the everyday life of both patients and staff and we are always keen to provide those items which fall outside normal NHS budgets.
The Friends support to the staff and patients of Kingston Hospital has been provided through the generosity of its members, the public, and through legacies. We have built up an impressive funding record and, together with Kingston Hospital Radio, the Friends provide over 100 unpaid volunteers to raise funds in several ways, including raffles, tombolas and sales of various items.
Since the year 2,000, the Friends have donated almost half a million pounds to various projects at the hospital. In order to maintain our level of commitment, we now need to increase our membership, thus enabling us to receive funds on a more regular basis. With the introduction of the Finance Act 2000 we are able to increase the value of donations by individuals with the use of Gift Aid. Providing the individual is a basic rate taxpayer the League will receive an extra 28p in the £ from the government.
If you feel able to assist us, either with a donation or by becoming a member of the Friends of Kingston Hospital (there is no minimum membership fee), then please visit our website for more information http://www.thefriendsofkingstonhospital.co.uk
