Flu

We advise people who are suffering from flu or flu-like symptoms not to come to the hospital to visit patients or Accident & Emergency,  as you risk spreading the virus to vulnerable people in the Hospital.  Please stay at home, rest, drink plenty of fluids and take over the counter remedies to relieve the symptoms. If you are pregnant, if your symptoms or your child’s symptoms suddenly get worse, or if you have a serious existing illness, please call your GP in the first instance. Further advice on what to do if you have flu-like symptoms can be found at: www.nhs.uk or by calling NHS Direct on: 0845 46 47.

If you have had diarrhoea and vomiting in the last 48 hours, please do not visit the hospital.  If you want to get more advice and to check the symptoms of Noro-Virus click here.  If you are coming into the hospital remember to always wash your hands and use the hand gel provided at all entrances when entering and leaving the wards.
