Work Experience

Students who are interested in work experience at Kingston Hospital are asked to make direct contact with the department they are interested in learning about, and/or gaining experience in.  (For information about the departments and services at Kingston Hospital , please see the Hospital Services section).

Various issues are taken into account when considering whether a work experience request can be accommodated, including concerns such as safety and patient confidentiality in the department hosting the placement, how busy the department is likely to be at the time and availability of suitable staff to provide supervision.  

Preference is given to students from local schools however each individual’s skills and aptitude, and their reason for seeking a placement, will also be considered. 

Please remember that it takes time to consider requests for work experience and put the necessary arrangements in place, so late notice requests are not normally possible.
