The Royal Eye Unit provides comprehensive outpatient ophthalmic services within a purpose built Eye Unit with up to date diagnostic and treatment facilities. The Eye Unit is fully equipped to provide eye surgery including cataract surgery and laser treatments.

Our Services Include:

Medical Retina - Treating conditions at the back of the eye, including inflammation in the eye (uveitis)

Age Related Macular Degeneration - A rapid access, one stop clinic, for the assessment and treatment of macular degeneration.

Vitreo retinal - Treating conditions at the back of the eye that require surgery

Glaucoma - Assessing and treating this group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve.

Paediatrics - Children's eye care, covering all major eye conditions

Adult Motility - Treating problems with how the eye moves, misalignment problems and double vision. This includes Botox treatment for eye movement problems.

Oculoplastics  -Treating the tissues around the eye, including the eyelids and tear system.

Cataract - A one stop assessment clinic

General - Treating general eye conditions that may require onward referral to specialist clinics.

Cornea - Treating conditions relating to the outside of the eye.

Low Vision Assessment (LVA) - Identify and demonstrate low vision devices to help you see better.

Eye Unit A&E - Open from 8.30am-4.00pm (last registration) Monday to Friday. Please see details below.

Contact Lens - Prescribe and fit contact lenses for a range of eye conditions.

 

Ophthalmic Surgery - We provide a comprehensive range of eye operations in our own modern fully equipped purpose built Eye Theatre and within the Day Surgery Unit.


Outpatients:
Outpatient Clinic appointments are from 8:15am-5:00pm - Monday to Friday.  Please contact your Optician and/or your GP to be referred to the Royal Eye Unit.

Raynes Park Outpatient Clinic:

We run glaucoma and medical retinal clinics at Raynes Park Health Centre, 1 Lambton Road, Raynes Park, London, SW20 0LW. The Health Centre is a 3 minute walk from Raynes Park railway station, and is on a number of bus routes. There are three disabled parking spaces outside the Health Centre. A public pay and display car park situated next to Waitrose, a 5 minute walk from the Health Centre.

Raynes Park Health Centre Reception: If you need to speak to us for directions, or if you are running late please call 020 8973 5060. Please note the receptionist will not be able to book or reschedule your appointment.

Eye Unit A&E Service:

The Eye Unit A&E Service is open from 8.30am to 4.00pm (last registration) Monday to Friday. This is a non-appointment service and patients may self-refer. If you have been referred by your GP or Optician please bring a copy of their referral letter or form with you.

No Eye Doctor is available between 5pm and 8.30am weekdays, at the weekends, or on Bank Holidays. During these times all eye emergency patients are asked to contact Moorfields Eye Clinic at St George's Hospital, Tooting, SW17 0QT. Please call the Ophthalmic Nurse on Duke Elder Ward for advice, on 020 8725 2064 or 020 8725 2065.

Laser Clinics:

Laser Clinic appointments are from 8:15am-5:00pm - Monday to Friday. Please contact your Optician and/or your GP to be referred to the Royal Eye Unit. For appointment enquiries or to change an appointment please call 020 8934 6404.
