Professional background

Dr Dobrina Hull studied Medicine at the University of Oxford and gained her membership to the Royal College of Physicians during her postgraduate training in London. She trained in Rheumatology on the London South Thames training programme and has worked at various hospitals including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, St George’s Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust which has given her extensive experience in all aspects of clinical rheumatology, including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, vasculitides, crystal arthropathy, osteoporosis and soft tissue rheumatological conditions. In addition she undertook a clinical research fellowship at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology to investigate the effects of anti-TNF therapies on T cell subsets in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis and correlate relationships to treatment response. This led to the award of a PhD from University of London in 2014. She maintains an interest in clinical research and has presented her work at national and international meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals.  She specialises in all aspects of rheumatology and her specialist interests are in inflammatory arthritis, use of biological therapies and skills in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound. She is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has an interest in patient education. She was appointed as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Kingston Hospital in 2017.
