Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is holding an event to mark the 70th Birthday of the NHS. The event is taking place on Saturday 14July from 1pm – 3.30pm, with a careers event also taking place from 11am – 2pm. Both will be held in the hospital’s Surgical Centre.
The event will comprise a number of family friendly activities, including a Kingston Hospital Charity tea party and raffle, incorporating the national NHS Big 7Tea fundraiser, and a Teddy Bear Hospital for children. Please bring your teddy bears along for a health check! All donations are welcome; proceeds go to Kingston Hospital Charity.
Attendees will also be able to view the Kingston Hospital: From Workhouse to Working for the Community exhibition, which has been on display at The Rose Theatre in Kingston town centre and charts the history of the hospital, from its origins as a workhouse in 1836 all the way through to present day.
Earlier in the day, the Trust will also be holding Career Conversations, giving people the opportunity to meet staff and find out more about all the different job roles, from those who work on the frontline to behind the scenes staff. Career Conversations starts at 11am.
