New welcome patient packs at Kingston Hospital well received

Tuesday 4 October 2016

DSC_0014This week, Kingston Hospital has launched its welcome packs across all adult inpatient areas.  The packs include everything a patient might need to help make their stay as comfortable as possible. This includes ear plugs to support a restful nights’ sleep, anti-slip socks to reduce falls, and wipes for hand hygiene.

The welcome packs were designed to improve patients’ safety and comfort and address some of the areas we know that we can improve upon.

“For the last few months the welcome packs have been piloted on Hardy Ward where we are already seeing the positive impact they are having on the patient experience, said Senior Sister of Hardy Ward, Becky Slaytor.

“In response to patient comments, we created the welcome packs to improve patients’ safety and comfort.” Explained Berenice Constable, Head of Nursing.

Feedback will continue to be monitored to ensure the packs continue to help improve the patient experience and if successful, will be rolled out across the Trust.
