The #teamKHFT 2017 Staff Awards will be awarded at a special ceremony at 7.00pm on Thursday 9 November 2017. Closing date is midday on Friday 13 October 2017.

There are many categories you can nominate colleagues and teams in this year, including categories focused on the Trust’s four values.

Leadership

This is for a member of staff who has shown great leadership and inspired their team and the wider organisation. It is open to staff at all levels. 

 

Value Each Other Frontline Team of the Year and Value Each Other Behind the Scenes Team of the Year

A team that:

  • Works effectively together to deliver results.
  • Supports and motivates each other.
  • Demonstrates inter-disciplinary working.

 

Frontline Staff Member of the Year

This is for a member of staff in a role with direct patient contact that has shown that they consistently go above and beyond to deliver exceptional care for patients and to support and play an active role in their team or service.

 

Behind the Scenes Staff Member of the Year

This is for a member of staff in a role without direct patient contact and working in a support, corporate or administrative role that has shown that they consistently go above and beyond to deliver an exceptional standard of service and support to colleagues and the wider organisation.  They will also play an active role in their team or service.

 

Patient’s Choice

This is award is nominated by patients, families and friends and is to recognise members of staff who made a real difference and impact on the patient’s care and it is an opportunity to say thank you to them.

 

Positivity Champion

This category is to recognise those members of staff who consistently have a positive attitude and focus on what is going well and what they can do to make improvements where needed.  This is to celebrate our ‘glass half full’ colleagues!

 

Rising Star

This category is to celebrate our younger and more junior staff who are showing a great deal of future potential and performing and carrying out their current role to a very high standard.

 

Unsung Hero of the Year

This is to find our Volunteer of the Year and is nominated by patients, staff and volunteers.  This is a volunteer that:

  • Puts patients at the heart of everything they do and makes a real difference.
  • Is committed and regularly volunteers at the hospital.
  • Supports and works hard in the area they volunteer in.
  • Goes the extra mile.

 

Caring Staff Member of the Year

This award is also nominated for by patients and is for a person that:

  • Puts patients at the heart of everything they do.
  • Listens to patients and their families and responds to their needs.
  • Treats patients, their families and friends with dignity and respect.
  • Goes the extra mile.

 

Safe – Safety Project of the Year

A project that:

  • Significantly improved patient safety.
  • Changed the way in which we do things to create a safer environment for our patients and staff.
  • Demonstrates that safety of staff and patients is a top priority.

 

Responsible – Innovation/Development of the Year

A project/initiative that:

  • Has resulted in significant cost savings for the Trust whilst maintaining quality services.
  • Has improved the efficiency of hospital services.
  • Is innovative in its approach to cost savings/productivity.

 

#TeamKHFT Stars

This category is to allow staff and the Trust to show their appreciation for colleagues who go above and beyond and always live our values. It can recognise staff for a particular event or occasion or to recognise consistently high standards and commitment.

 

#TeamKHFT Achievement

This category is to recognise those staff who have achieved a professional qualification or completed significant training, which supports them to carry out their role and develop.

 

Sustainability Champion

  • Consistently working towards making our hospital more sustainable by reducing our energy use and our waste.
  • Using  innovative ways to reduce our environmental impact, whether that be in their working area or across the Trust
  • Encourages others around them to be more sustainable

 

Improvement Award

  • Have made improvements to processes and/or performance as a result of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Measurable improvements in quality, efficiency, productivity and safety across the Trust
  • Success in achieving continuous and sustained improvement
  • The piece of work/project clearly demonstrates a positive outcome or improvement for patients and/or staff.

 

Mentor of the Year

An exceptional mentor who demonstrates excellence in the following:

  • Emotional and practical support offering staff time of reflection as well as time to perfect required skills
  • Interpersonal and communication skills that give staff comprehensive feedback and the opportunity to learn from their mistakes and develop 
  • A positive attitude that inspires and enthuses staff
  • Ability to tailor the learning process to meet the needs of particular staff members

 

Prizes - All winners will be presented with an engraved glass award and certificate, as well as giftcards.
