What does your average day look like at KHFT?
Every day is different and exciting and it all depends on what is going on within our hospital community. We may be on a ward chatting to a grateful patient who wants to make a donation or in Kingston town centre with a pair of antlers on and a red nose singing carols or running charity race in the dark with wet hair and a flame thrower. We manage donations and enquiries into the Charity, manage grants and run the office. The Charity provides a platform to empower those who can make a difference to their local hospital and help those we care about by raising awareness and funds in all sorts of creative ways.
What makes you proud in your job?
Rob: “Helping Kingston Hospital Charity to be as effective as possible, generating funds to enhance the care provided at the hospital, for the benefit of patients and their families and staff.”
Michelle: “Seeing the difference that every single donation can make to our patients, carers their families and our staff. Being able to support and empower our staff to make a difference within their departments with the financial support they need that is not available through normal NHS budgets and witnessing the changes we can make to the environments of care at the hospital first hand.”
Amanda: “Being able to support the staff, patients and families beyond what the NHS can afford.”
