Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust partners with Siemens Healthineers to improve efficiency by transforming radiology department
Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has entered into a partnership agreement with Siemens Healthineers. As a health group, the Trust provides 320,000 people in the outlying areas of London with comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. For the ten-year term of the contract, Siemens Healthineers will provide the hospital in Kingston with comprehensive Managed Equipment Services (MES) for all medical imaging systems. This partnership goes beyond the range of a normal MES contract: professionals from Siemens Healthineers will be integrated into the customer’s team to help optimize the processes in the Radiology department and develop technology roadmaps to ensure the available medical systems always meet the latest requirements.
With MES and the complete upgrade of the radiology system at Kingston, Siemens Healthineers aims to help the Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust improve quality of care for its patients and optimize its costs at the same time through the use of innovative imaging technology and optimized work processes.
The partnership with Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust includes the provision, updating and maintenance of imaging systems, including for angiography, computed tomography, ultrasound, x-rays and molecular imaging. Under the contract, Siemens Healthineers will also offer financing services, take charge of space planning, train clinical users, and provide technical support on-site. It will also include solutions to improve operational and clinical efficiency using a Radiology Performance Management Service (RPMS). RPMS is a comprehensive approach. In addition to analytical consulting services, the service thus includes supervision and implementation of the agreed actions and continuous measurement of results for an extensive period of time.
“This new partnership presents a real opportunity for us,” said Angela Clarke, Associate Director for Capital Programmes at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. “The assurance we will receive from having access to the latest equipment and working within a more efficient department is invaluable. It will allow us to focus on what matters – providing our patients with the best possible care.”
Nancy West, Head of Enterprise Services in Western Europe & Western Africa, at Siemens Healthineers, added: “It is our aim to ensure all partners have access to the most innovative technology available. This will facilitate smarter working environments and increased efficiency, helping staff provide the highest levels of care to patients. We’re delighted to start working alongside Kingston. Their clinical expertise coupled with our solutions and support will really enhance the experience of both staff and patients.”
