Transforming Main Outpatients 2015

New -outpatients

The Trust will soon be commencing the redevelopment of its MRI facility in partnership with In-Health, to provide a new state of the art three storey building as well as remodelling and upgrading its existing facility including the adjacent trauma and orthopaedic unit. The first phase of this is for the Trust to provide temporary accommodation for the orthopaedic clinical and administrative teams to allow the MRI building works to take place. Works to provide this temporary accommodation, which will in the area that used to be used by SWL Pathology, began 10th April 2017. The works associated with the actual MRI building will start around June 2017. The outcome of all these works means that the Trust will have a much improved orthopaedic and MRI working environment as well as new MRI scanners with more scanning capacity which will be delivered more flexibly for patients across a 7 day week. Please bear with us while this work takes place.

Last year, more than 354,000 appointments were held in our Outpatients Department.

If you are coming for an Outpatient appointment, you may find it helpful to have a read through the guide to outpatients on this site. It details the location of various clinics, what to expect when you visit Outpatients, how we hold information about you and how to get to the hospital.
