Visiting Kingston Hospital

Closure of Norbiton Station - 5th – 28th August 2017
No trains will call at Norbiton railway station between 5th and 28th August 2017 due to the planned upgrade of London Waterloo. Trains will run to Kingston and New Malden, but are expected to be busier than normal. Due to the planned works, local buses and roads in the area are also expected to be busier. If you are travelling to the hospital during these dates, please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey. For further information about alternative travel arrangements please click here and select Norbiton on the dropdown menu.

New car parking charges will be in operation at the hospital from 3rd April 2017.

The new charges will affect all lengths of stay.

Please check the tariff amounts on the payment machines thoroughly before paying.

Underpaying for your car parking may result in a parking fine.

Welcome to the visitors' area of the Kingston Hospital website.  We hope that you find all you need on these pages.  If not, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service - PALS (details below).

We actively encourage visiting and the involvement of visitors and carers while patients are in hospital.  Keeping in contact with friends and relatives is an important part of a patient’s recovery.   However, if you or anyone thinking of visiting has had any symptoms of diarrohoea or vomiting in the past 72 hours you should not visit any hospital.  You need to be 48 hours clear before you can visit to avoid spreading any germs to patients.  The same applies if you have any symptoms of flu.   Please see the pages on infection control for more advice.

We strongly recommend that visitors use public transport to get to the hospital.  If you wish to travel by car, please be aware that parking at the hospital site is very limited and you should allow yourself plenty of time to find a parking space.   At busy times, there may be queues for spaces.  The hospital has pay and display car parks on site and the charging period for the car park is from 8:00am to 8:00pm, seven days a week.   You will need to have the correct change for the pay and display machines (please note, we do not have change machines).  The current minimum fee is £1.80 (for the first hour) and £1.50 for each hour thereafter (up to five hours).

There are many ways in which visitors can be involved in a patient's care, such as helping at meal times, and we are happy to support visitors to do so, if that is the patient’s wish.

The wards have different visiting times, depending on the needs of the patients, so please check with the individual wards.

Smoking On-site

From 1 October 2015 Kingston Hospital will be a smokefree site. This means smoking will not be permitted anywhere in our hospital buildings, car parks and grounds. This includes all tobacco products, e-cigarettes and vaping devises. For more information click here.

There is a cashpoint available for Patients & Visitors located at the Main Entrance of the Hospital.
